NYSC, OLUYOLE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAPTER, OYO STATE.
MINUTES OF CDS MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, 14TH OF JULY, 2011.
OPENING
The meeting started at exactly 10:30 am with the remark said by the CD Coordinator Corp. Taiwo Folarin. He extended the greetings of the LGI, Mr Lasaki from the Iseyin Orientation Camp to us.
MATTERS ARISING/ ACTIVITIES
The Assistant LGI, Mrs Olurole frowned at the low turn-out of attendance and encouraged us to always come for CDS meeting. The CD coordinator, gave the reason for the need to clear the surrounding of the Local Government NYSC office which had gone bushy. So in response to this, the Male Corp members present swung into action with their cutlasses to cut the weeds and thereafter the female Corp members swept the rubbish left.
UPDATE ON THE 2010 NYSC BATCH ‘C’ PROJECT
After the activity for the CD meeting, the EXCOS met to deliberate on what could be done as regards the project. Various suggestions came from different angles and the suggestion of the provision of First Aid Box for about 20 schools stood out as the most advisable. This would be thrown to the house and discussed at the next CDS meeting, though some members have been delegated to find the cost of making the box and the item to be provided in it.
The last Thursday for the month, 28th of July has been made the last day to finalize talks about the project.
WELFARE
The incoming 2011 NYSC BATCH ‘B’ corpers posted to Oluyole LG are to arrive on the 26th of July, 2011. Several suggestions were made on what to provide to refresh them on arrival – Your Suggestion too is welcomed. The need to buy 10 Litres of petrol to fuel the generator for two nights was also mentioned.
HOW TO IMPROVE THE CDS MEETING
The CD Coordinator spoke on the need to ‘spice-up’ the CD meeting every Thursday by introducing Vision 2020 topical issues, Health tips, Safety precautions and the idea of the Oppurtunity of Corpers to lecture us on subjects based on the their discipline, though not forcing on any corp member.
